Research, Not Promises
We publish what survives testing.
Nothing that doesn't.

SITREP runs a quantitative research program alongside the briefing: systematic scanners, a signal ledger that records every result — winners and losers, measured from the open of the day each name surfaced — and null-baseline tests that ask the only question that matters: does this beat random?

Strategies that pass validation out of sample will ship as features, with their full audited record attached. Strategies that don't stay in the lab. That standard is the product.

Questions

The honest answers.

What exactly is a SITREP?
A SITREP — short for Situational Report — is a military term for the intelligence brief a frontline operator sends back to command. It includes current condition, tactical position, what they're seeing, and what's about to matter. We borrow the name because that's exactly what this product does for traders. Every morning you get the market's current SITREP — regime, conditions, catalysts, context — before the bell rings.
What's in the free edition vs the full brief?
First Look is the headline layer: regime, the mover board's lead story, today's economic prints, one education item — a ninety-second read. The full brief is the complete manifest: full mover boards with records, filtered headlines, the SEC filings watch, the catalyst calendar, IPO and dividend dates, event-day volatility context, and the complete education set. Every free edition ends with the day's full-brief manifest, so the difference is never a mystery.
Is this financial advice?
No. The Situational Report is published for educational and informational purposes. It reports conditions — computed from market data and linked to primary sources — and teaches concepts. It does not recommend trades, does not tell you what to buy or sell, and does not know your situation. Readers make their own decisions.
Does SITREP publish stock picks?
No. SITREP runs a scanner research program internally, with every signal tracked in an audited ledger and tested against null baselines. Nothing from that program is published unless it survives out-of-sample validation — and if something does, it will launch with its complete track record attached, losers included. We don't sell what we can't prove.
What's the difference between Operator and Tactician?
Nothing. Tactician is the same product as Operator, just at annual pricing. You get every section, every morning, every update. The only difference is you pay $99 once per year instead of $9.99 per month — which saves you $20.88 and gives you two months free. Pick Tactician if you'd rather pay once a year and forget about it.
What if I miss the 8:00 AM send?
The brief is a read, not an alarm. It's built to be useful at 8:00, at the open, or at lunch — conditions and context don't expire at the bell, and the Friday recap ties the week together.
Where does the data come from?
Market data is computed from exchange-derived price history. Filings come from SEC EDGAR and link to the primary documents. Economic calendar times come from the published schedule. Every claim in the brief is checkable, and the brief links you to the source.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Use the Manage Subscription link in the footer of this site or any email — it opens your Stripe billing portal, where cancellation is one click. Monthly subscriptions end at the close of the current billing cycle. Annual subscriptions are non-refundable but you retain full access for the remainder of the year.
